Upcoming Tier Changes
Posted Sep 14 2025Alright! I've got some things I need to change (and have been meaning to change up for some time) for Subscribers.
These next ones will go into effect during October.
Bronze & Silver Tier
The $10 tier is going away. My initial 3 tiers were made back when I started doing Patreon, so I hadn't really adjusted them since... 2023? However, Subscriber Polls will not be going away, and will be moved down into the $5 tier for everyone who supports my work! However, I will be removing timelapses, and instead having them as something I can just post normally when I'm up for it. I haven't decided where yet, but I know some of my "Safe For Work" pieces can definitely go on YouTube. I'll be playing it by ear for each one.
Finally, Bronze will be renamed into Silver, so we'll just have a Silver and a Gold tier for my paid tiers!
The Freebie Tier & Newsletter
Alright, so this is actually going to do something now: the freebie tier (and the Discord server) will be (functionally) a newsletter!
When I make updates to the site like this one, I'll post a little summary of it, and a link to the page itself - which if you're signed up already, you might've already seen this for this exact post! :p
To be completely clear, here's how the tiers will pan out when the changes are put through at the end of the month (all prices are in USD):
Freebie Tier ($FREE)
- Commission Opening Updates
- Comic Release Updates
- Any other Updates that will also go up on this website, except you'll get an email when it goes up!
Silver Tier ($5/month)
- Early Access to Comics & Artwork
- Poll Access
- Subscriber Discord Access
- Everything under the Freebie Tier
Golden Tier ($20/month, Limited)
- Monthly Sketch
- Commission Discount
- Everything under the Silver Tier
The Future with Patreon
So this is a big one. I might be partially closing the Patreon by the end of the year. The SubscribeStar will stay up, as it's been much more consistent in Actually Functioning when it comes to actually getting my work to you guys. Payments are slower since I can only get pay outs when I pass the $150 threshold, but Patreon keeps on failing to take uploads, and it keeps causing them to be delayed on there. There was also some point when the tiers broke on there for specific pieces and comics, and I wasn't made aware of the problem until recently. It isn't entirely a big deal since it's all on stuff that has long-since been made public, but it has been bothering me since. (Plus there's been a lot of talk from them about wanting to boot NSFW work from their site, their want to use GenAI all over the place, and the fact that the site has been so unstable that this past weekend I haven't been able to even log in properly. No thanks, and if this made it to you through Patreon, I literally have no idea how as of writing.)
This "partial" closing would mean that it would still be available to use for access to the Discord (where all of the rewards are normally) and I'll put up the PDFs for all completed comics up to that point in December. By then I'm expecting that we'll have Valerie's completed, so it'll have been a good 7 comics in about 3 years... Or over 120 pages of comics (and that excludes any extras I've done) for Patreon. I took some breaks here and there, but balancing that with college... I feel pretty good about what I've done here, and I wanna keep doing it. The support has meant a lot to me, and I still have stories and concepts I've wanted to explore and tell.
The Near and Far Future
Softie Stuffers is comin' out on Steam soon! Once it's done, and once I've gotten the Itch release updated to match it (it should be done this week), I'll be holding myself back from serious major game development for some time. I'll focus on any bug fixes I need to complete that I may have missed, but I do not plan on any content updates or any new projects due to some problems I've dealt with since the beginning of the year regarding my mental health, and how I feel about my place in this space.
I feel like I'm a hobbyist at best right now, and this past year has been a bit sobering, to put it lightly.I passed on this year's Gain Jam (or well, its temporary replacement) to finish up the Steam port, because I'm kinda out of ideas I can iterate on right now. I need some time for it to stew and right now, during my final year of college, is likely not the best time for that. I love making games, and I love talking about making games. It's another subset of my artwork, and I want to come back to it when I'm actually able to put my best foot forward. If for whatever reason you'd like me to work on a game with you for some kind of paid work or Jam, please feel free to contact me via any of my socials at the bottom of this webpage. I work with GameMaker typically, but I've got knowledge in C# and Unity, and I'm open to working with new tools (if given grace). I can send along more recent examples of my GameMaker work in private if you're interested, as I believe it's some of my best Systems and Design work so far, but none of it is prepared or ready enough for what I would call even a "demo" for public testing or play (a System alone does not a game make). I can handle artwork or programming work for a project, but please do not try to hire me to do both at the same time.
In the meantime, I'll be focusing in on my artwork, comics, and commission work. Speaking of...
Right now I'm working on the prompts for this year's Octummberfats - I'll have something for that prepared some time this week or so, so I can get a head start on those for October. I'll put out an update whenever it's done - sign up for the Freebie tier if you haven't already to get an email when slots open, there's only one per day of October!
Thanks for reading! I've honestly been enjoying writing a bit more long-form like this on my own terms. See y'all again later in the month!
